‘Pilat-ease with Lauren.

Lauren Owen, Angelas older daughter, started doing Pilates at the age of fifteen when she was diagnosed with Scoliosis: a curvature and a twist of the spine. After being told that she probably needed corrective spinal surgery, she was advised to try Pilates first to see if it could help and the results were amazing! A year went by and the surgeon was so impressed at how her muscle tone and posture had improved that she given the news that she should continue what she had been doing and should be surgery free! Since then she has been committed to her Pilates and decided to train to be a Body Control Pilates teacher. Lauren previously competed in showjumping and schooled the young horses and is presently enjoying getting back to teaching after her baby girl, Isabel.

Pilates is body conditioning routine that helps to improve core stability, flexibility, muscle strength and endurance in the whole body. The exercises incorporated help to support correct posture and increase core strength, which are used in every day activities, and is particularly beneficial for horse riders.

Lauren holds many qualifications including Pilates for Equestrians and level 3 Reformer. Please click here for her website for more details.

She runs group and private classes from Turville Valley Stud as well as holding group Zoom classes.
