Don Diego was bred in France by Jean Louis-Palacin in 1991 and came to this country as a 3 year old. Rebecca bought him in summer 2000 and started competing with him in 2001. He was very successful showing in Spanish classes picking up many 1st Prizes, he also had a couple of seasons standing at stud.
Rebecca then decided to try her hand in a new discipline called ‘Working Equitation’ – a 4 phase competition with dressage, obstacles, speed and cattle cutting sections – a true test of rider and horse partnership. Don took to it really well and they, along with Diane and Lucca, were selected for the first British Team to enter the Working Equitation World Championships in Portugal.
Don has amazing straight paces, lovely extension and has a super temperament
Now at 19 he is still used in the school at Turville for lessons and is enjoying a less competitive life. He hacks, plays at mounted games and is even going to have a go at a bit of Polo practice!
